Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge

Opening Time: December 2014 Length: 3,420 m Design Speed: 60 km/h

The Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge extends from Jiangcheng Avenue in the west to Meijiashan Interchange in the east, serving as a vital cross-river passage connecting Hanyang and Wuchang. The bridge deck accommodates a two-way, eight-lane urban expressway. The bridge towers and other structural components are coated in a stylish international “orange-red” hue, which harmonizes with the steel girders. This coating not only provides protective benefits but also enhances the visual impact of the bridge's nighttime illumination.

1911 Revolution Museum

The 1911 Revolution Museum was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 and the Wuchang Uprising by Wuhan and serves as a dedicated museum for this historic event. It stands as the core architectural landmark of the Shouyi Cultural Tourist Area in Wuhan. The museum houses 35,000 pieces/sets of artifacts, including 512 precious relics, with 20 classified as first-grade cultural relics. It features five basic and special exhibitions and around ten temporary exhibitions annually.

Shouyi Stele Forest

Shouyi Stele Forest is the main attraction within Chuwangtai Heritage Park, covering 1.4 hectares. This cultural corridor combines calligraphy art and traditional culture, featuring over 100 stone steles and wood carvings that chronicle the history of the 1911 Revolution.

Yingwuzhou Bridge-Themed Park

Yingwuzhou Bridge-Themed Park features a remarkable entrance display — a charcoal-black ancient tree, about 10 meters long, unearthed from the Yangtze River's muddy riverbed during the construction of Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge. It is believed that this tree may have been buried beneath the riverbed for around 500 years. Its surface has completely carbonized, while its interior has hardened like stone, turning into ebony. This ancient tree is likely a tangible remnant of the historical Yingwuzhou. The sculptures in the park are designed based on components of the Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge, such as saddle supports, cables, and open caissons. In addition, there is a bridge-themed sculpture wall in the park, about 120 meters long and 3 meters high, featuring a variety of bridge patterns carved into its surface. From the Zhaozhou Bridge to the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, and from the Tower Bridge in the UK to the Brooklyn Bridge in the US, visitors can experience some of the most iconic bridges from both China and around the world while learning about the fascinating history behind them.

Free Outdoor Movies at the River Beaches

The free outdoor movies at the river beaches have been a part of the city's culture for over a decade, becoming a symbol of the connection between the citizens, visitors, the Yangtze River, and movies. For many older residents of Wuhan, memories of sitting by the river with a small stool and a fan, listening to the sounds of the river, feeling the cool breeze, and watching a movie with the river view in the summer nights, have created a unique and joyful experience.
