Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge

Opening Time: June 1995 Length: 3,971.408 m Design Speed: 60 km/h

The Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge connects Hankou District and Wuchang District, featuring a two-way, six-lane urban expressway. After its opening, the bridge significantly eased traffic congestion on the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and, together with it, formed the central traffic loop of Wuhan's urban area.

Reed Viewing Walkway

Every year from November to December, the six-kilometer stretch of natural reed beds along the Hankou River Beach transforms into a breathtaking landscape, attracting numerous visitors and locals. In October 2018, a 500-meter-long Reed Viewing Walkway was completed and opened to the public. Elevated at an average height of 3.5 m, the walkway offers a panoramic view of swaying reed flowers, the mighty Yangtze River rushing by, and the bustling cityscape on both banks — all unfolding before your eyes.

International Friendship Forest

The International Friendship Forest is located near Sanyang Square along the Hankou River Beach. It houses a collection of plants from around the world, including cherry blossoms, hibiscus, maple trees, and black pines. The forest also features sculptures representing Wuhan's sister cities, with symbols such as the Manchester United logo for Manchester, England, and a wine bottle representing Bordeaux, France.

Simeitang Cultural Park

Simeitang Cultural Park is located on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, beneath the Wuchang end of the Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. Its predecessor was the site of the former Wuchang North Station on the Wuhan-Jiujiang Railway North Loop, established in 1909. After renovation, the park has been transformed into a scenic spot that showcases the intersection of railway heritage and ecological landscaping, blending seamlessly into Wuhan's Hundred-Mile Riverside Ecological and Cultural Corridor. Major attractions within the park include the Fish-Viewing Curved Bridge and Yitingzhou Islet (a small island in the middle of the lake).

Rivermeeting Pub — “Bridge Pier Cinema”

On April 6, 2024, the “Bridge Pier Cinema” under the Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge began its trial operation. Every evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, classic films are projected onto the bridge pier. Looking ahead, you see the vast Yangtze River; to the side, a stretch of lush green reeds sways in the breeze; in the distance, the city's towering buildings shimmer with the Yangtze River light show — an enchanting summer night spectacle found only in Wuhan.
