On June 3, the National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCHA) held its second-quarter regular press conference, and announced that the theme for the 2026 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day is "Cultural Relics Belong to the People and Serve the People," and the main events will be held in Wuhan, Hubei Province, on June 13. 

During the event, the opening ceremony, the "Cultural Relics Belong to the People and Serve the People" theme forum, and the 6th Cultural Relics Science Technology Innovation Forum will be held. The "Tracing Xia and Shang" theme exhibition will be presented, and lists of high-quality development cases in the cultural relics sector, "Culturalics Security Guardians," and outstanding new media communication projects for Chinese cultural relics will be announced. Representatives from various sectors involved in cultural relics protection and inheritance will be invited to give speeches. The second volume of the "Red Scarf Passing on Cultural Heritage — Learning in Museums with Grandpa Xi" theme series of team lessons will be launched. In addition, the cultural relics documentary filmFarewell to a Million Years" will be promoted, the "Civilized China" global communication plan will be initiated, the documentary "Cultural Relics Restorer" will start filming and the "Archaeology Technology" series of lectures of the sixth season of "China Archaeology Lecture Hall" will be broadcast. 

As the host of the event, Hubei Province has been actively organizing and carefully preparing. It will hold activities such as cultural relics exhibitions, special lectures, study and practice sessions, legal publicity, and creative displays, and interactive experiences. Various cities and prefectures will simultaneously launch over 100 characteristic activities, deeply tapping into Jingchu Culture and red culture resources, introducing people-benefiting measures such as ticket reductions and free guided tours. Wuhan will launch 12 supporting activities, including "Bricks and Tiles Conveying Emotions · Rubbing" to continue the cultural heritage of the River City, and 6 special exhibitions, such as "The River and the City Coexist in Past and Present — Wuhan Nourished by River Culture," to meet the people's spiritual and cultural needs. 

It is reported that during the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, cultural departments and cultural heritage institutions across the country will organize over 7,000 online and offline activities. Among them, there will be over 3,400 people-benefiting services, showcasing the characteristics of the cultural heritage industry and enriching the cultural life of the public.
