Wuhan witnessed a cumulative 520 China-Europe (Central China) freight train trips in the first half of this year (H1), comprising 313 outbound trips (up 21.32 percent) and 207 inbound trips.

The total cargo value surpassed 10.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.32 percent, with exports accounting for over 80 percent.

New routes linking Wuhan with Copenhagen and Baku were launched during the period. The service now operates 63 stable cross-border routes in Wuhan, covering 42 countries and regions and 124 cities across Eurasia.

In the first half of this year, Wuhan saw the number of scheduled outbound train trips increase from eight to nine per week, with a new auto-dedicated service on Fridays. Auto container shipments surged by 123.13 percent year on year. The inbound freight trains brought in European auto parts, food, medical equipment, and high-quality agricultural products from Central Asia.

Meanwhile, the service operator Wuhan Asia-Europe International Logistics Co set up two overseas warehouses in Germany and officially launched a logistics hub in Barcelona, extending its cross-border service network.
