A China-Europe freight train loaded with auto parts, electronic products and daily necessities departed from Wuhan on Feb. 22, 2026, heading for Hamburg and Duisburg in Germany via the Horgos Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
It marked the final international freight train departing from Wuhan during the Spring Festival holiday this year.
Data showed that Wuhan saw 14 China-Europe freight train trips made during the nine-day holiday, a 27.27 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025, with export value reaching 317 million yuan.
Products from Hubei's advantageous industries, including machinery equipment, optoelectronic products and auto components, continued to dominate exports, with the proportion of high-value-added goods steadily rising.
Imports also remained robust during the holiday, as batches of daily necessities such as cooking oil from Russia, dairy products from Poland and wine from France were transported to Wuhan via the freight train service.
During the Spring Festival holiday, trade partners from Russia, Germany, Poland and other countries sent their New Year greetings. The China-Europe freight train service in Wuhan now operates 62 stable cross-border routes, covering 123 cities in 41 countries across Eurasia. The number of its train trips made annually has exceeded 1,000 for the third consecutive year.
