Taotao welcomes 21st birthday

The world's first Yangtze finless porpoise "Taotao," naturally bred in a fully artificial environment, celebrated its 21st birthday on July 5. That day also marks the centenary of Chen Peixun, one of the principal founders of freshwater cetacean conservation biology in China and a researcher at the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Senior, middle-aged, and young researchers, who have been dedicated to the conservation of Yangtze finless porpoises, gathered at the Baiji Dolphinarium of IHB, CAS, to celebrate Ms. Chen Peixun and Taotao's birthday.
