Douyu Carnival makes grand return to Wuhan

The Douyu Carnival made its much-anticipated return at the Wuhan International Expo Center from June 25 to 28. After a seven-year hiatus, this premier entertainment brand, cherished by livestreaming audiences and fans nationwide, is back in full force.

Originating in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), Douyu has grown into a leading digital economy enterprise. The first Douyu Carnival was held in 2016 at Shanghai Jinjiang Paradise, transforming online interactions into face-to-face exchanges.

This year's four-day carnival featured a variety of activities that extended online content into the real world. The esports segment delved into core gaming arenas, covering mainstream games such as League of Legends and Honor of Kings. The music segment was revamped to feature 20 renowned musicians performing nightly, providing a top-tier experience.

"Youthfulness defines Wuhan, and passion is the bond that connects us," said a Douyu staff member, with the return of the carnival after seven years underscoring Wuhan's robust innovation and diverse cultures.

With 95 universities and over 1.4 million students, young people make up more than one-third of the city's population. This concentration of youth, dynamic cultural scenes, and a robust, innovative spirit forms the city's core competitive edge.
