Wuhan's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 504.299 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2026, up 5.7 percent year on year, according to official data released on April 24, 2026.

The growth rate was 0.7 percentage points higher than the national average and 0.3 percentage points above the provincial average.

The added value of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries reached 7.628 billion yuan, 178.13 billion yuan and 318.541 billion yuan, growing by 4.3 percent, 8.2 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.
