Chinese sturgeons successfully manage natural spawning, hatching in Yangtze River

Recently, the first ecological operation experiment for the natural spawning of Chinese sturgeons, jointly conducted by the Changjiang Water Resources Commission and the China Three Gorges Corporation, completed all monitoring and evaluation processes. During the experiment, approximately 300 fertilized eggs and over 30 newly hatched larvae of Chinese sturgeons were collected inYichangCity, Hubei Province. This marks a critical breakthrough in China's conservation efforts for the species, achieving a significant transition from "artificial breeding" to "natural spawning in the wild" through the coordinated operation of water conservancy projects.
