Wuhan aims to become leading city in digital intelligent economy

Wuhan hosted a city-wide conference focused on establishing itself as a leading city in China's digital intelligent economy on Feb 3, further contributing to Hubei province's goal of becoming a national hub for digital intelligent economic development.

The conference featured a keynote report by Qiao Wei, chief expert of Huawei's standards and industry development department, who shared insights into Wuhan's economic growth in this sector. 

Key documents, including the "Wuhan Digital Intelligent Economy Development Action Plan (2026-28)", were also discussed, along with the release of a list of projects, policy compilations, scenario collections, and practical case studies.

Sheng Yuechun, Party secretary of Wuhan, emphasized the importance of excelling in the cultivation of intelligent agents. This involves advancing critical core technologies, developing benchmark products, and accelerating the commercialization and scaling of intelligent agents.

The city plans to comprehensively implement the "artificial intelligence (AI)+" initiative, with the government leading the way in opening-up research, industry, livelihood, and governance application scenarios. This will enhance the integration of AI across various sectors, empowering economic development and social governance and improving citizens' lives.

According to Sheng, Wuhan also aims to excel in building digital infrastructure by developing a new infrastructure system encompassing computing, storage, and operational capabilities, laying a solid foundation for digital intelligent economic growth.

Furthermore, Wuhan seeks to optimize its development ecosystem by strengthening financial support, attracting high-level talent, and enhancing spatial platforms, fostering the growth of innovative digital intelligent enterprises in the city.
