The main stadium of Wuhan Sports Center will be upgraded to an 80,000-seat professional football stadium, the Wuhan Sports Center Group said on Wednesday.

The Wuhan Sports Center, located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, is the largest sports complex in central China. Its total area covers approximately 1,800 acres, featuring one stadium, seven venues, one park and three centers.

After the renovation, the social parking lot will be transformed into a double-level space both underground and above ground, making parking easier. The construction of cinemas and hotels will be conducted, further enhancing consumption functions of the venues.
