17th China Bioindustry Convention opens in Wuhan

The 17th China Bioindustry Convention officially commenced on Sept. 4, 2025, in Hubei’s capital city Wuhan. Over 200 enterprises and institutions from across the country showcased thousands of cutting-edge biotechnology products, demonstrating China's latest achievements in biotech and bio-manufacturing.

At the opening ceremony, the Report on China’s Bioeconomy Development 2025 was released, which provides a systematic analysis of the current status, challenges, and future pathways of China's bioeconomy.

During the event, more than ten specialized sub-forums were held, covering hot topics such as synthetic biology, biopharmaceuticals, brain-computer interfaces, bio-breeding, bio-energy, and traditional Chinese medicine innovation. These forums brought together academicians, experts, and industry elites from around the world to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategies in the field.

The convention also features a supply-demand matching session, which aims to create an efficient platform for projects, capitals, and enterprises, as well as a science popularization report session to promote biotechnology education.

Jointly organized by 17 national-level academic associations including the Chinese Society of Biotechnology and China Science Daily, the China Bioindustry Convention is the country's most prestigious and largest-scale event in the bioindustry sector. Since its inception in 2007, it has attracted around 10,000 bio-experts and industry leaders from 80 countries and regions.
