OVC launches Mars-themed science exhibition

The futuristic Mars-themed Planet Science Experience Exhibition has opened at the China Architecture Science and Technology Museum in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), showcasing over 10 interactive exhibits and more than 30 meteorite specimens.

The exhibition focuses on three main themes: Deep Space Future, Mars Construction, and Space Art, transforming scientific visions of future life on Mars into tangible and interactive scenarios. Visitors feel as if they are on a future Mars base, experiencing the entire process of landing, building, developing, and living on the red planet.

Visitors experience the interactive activity.

The exhibition is divided into six sections. In the "Habitat" section, visitors can explore a movie-grade virtual set created by the visual effects team of The Wandering Earth 2 and ride a sightseeing spacecraft to explore the Martian landscape.

"This exhibition emphasizes experiential, interactive, and immersive elements," said Zhang Zuli, executive director of the China Architecture Science and Technology Museum. "Visitors can take photos, watch immersive films, and get up close with meteorites, gaining a wealth of scientific knowledge."

The exhibition will run until March 29, 2026. The museum also plans to introduce over 100 cultural and creative products, such as AR planet postcards, AR planet models, and meteorite blind boxes. Additionally, the exhibition will conduct academic lectures by industry experts, educational activities for primary and secondary school students, and a 'Creative Mars Rover Building' activity.
