The phase II project of Wuhan Metro Line 7 North Extension (Qianchuan Line) was put into initial operation on October 1, 2024.
The Phase II of Qianchuan Line is operated in conjunction with the existing Line 7, and the entire line is operated with a 1:1 ratio of long and short routing: the weekday long routing runs from Huangpi Square Station to Qinglongshan Ditiexiaozhen Station, the short routing runs from Julong Boulevard to Banqiao Station; the weekend long routing runs from Huangpi Square Station to Qinglongshan Ditiexiaozhen Station, the short routing runs from Julong Boulevard to Qinglongshan Ditiexiaozhen Station.

Starting from October 2, the operating hours of Line 7 on weekdays and weekends are 6 am and 6:30 am respectively. The last train from Huangpi Square Station bound for Qinglongshan Ditiexiaozhen Station is 22:00, and the last train from Garden Expo North Station bound for Huangpi Square Station is 22:30. The last train on Qinglongshan Ditiexiaozhen Station to Garden Expo North Station section is 23:00. The operating hours on national legal holidays and other special occasions will be announced separately.
In the 2024 Government Work Report, it was proposed to open three subway lines, including Phase II of Qianchuan Line, Phase II of Line 11 and the first opening section of Phase III of Line 11. According to statistics, a total of 12 stations are involved, of which 9 are new stations and 3 are transfer stations.
Phase II of Line 11 consists of 7 underground stations, including Guanshan Avenue Station, Optical Valley Square Station (which can be transferred to Line 2), Wuhan Sports University Station, Huquan Station (which can be transferred to Line 2), Mafangshan Station (which can be transferred to Line 8), Dingziqiao Station, and East Square Station of Wuchang Station.
The first opening section of the Phase III will have 2 underground stations, namely Ziyanghu Station and Jiang'an Road Station.
The three lines that are expected to be opened this year, Phase II and III of Line 11, will connect important functional groups in the main urban area of Wuchang district, Luxiang urban sub-center, and the Optical Valley area, and link Wuchang Railway Station and Wuhandong Railway Station, two major railway hubs.
The Phase II of Qianchuan Line will be connected and put into operation with the Phase I after its completion, which will bring convenience to the residents in Qianchuan, Hengdian and Panlongcheng areas.
