Most renowned place

Wuhan University is the most well-known cherry blossom viewing location in Wuhan, and currently some early cherry varieties have reached full bloom. Seen from a distance, the pink and crimson flowers on the trees are like bright clouds.

Area with largest quantity

The scenic area with the largest number of cherry trees is the Huangpi Qingliang Village Scenic Area, with about 110,000 wild Chinese cherry trees scattered over about 213 hectares of land. Over six species in the area bloom at different times, ensuring a long flower viewing period lasting from early March to early April every year.

Spot with most species

The 35-hectare East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden boasts up to 10,000 cherry trees of more than 80 varieties. Since the opening of the garden on March 3 this year, early bloomers have reached full bloom one after another. The garden entered its peak blooming period around the middle of March.

Internet-famous cherry-viewing road

Dongsi Road, Wuchang, home to two varieties of cherry blossoms, is the most distinctive "Internet-famous" cherry appreciation road in Wuhan. Growing along the road are 45 Somei-Yoshino trees, a Japanese midseason cherry variety; and 50 Kwanzan cherry trees, a late-season variety. The flowering period lasts from mid-March to early April.
