Cherry blossoms usher in beautiful spring

In March, Wuhan ushers in the most romantic cherry blossom viewing season. There are various spots and methods for cherry blossom admiration. Not only in the parks, the scenic spots and on the streets, but also in themed metro trains, light shows, as well as "online presentations," cherry blossoms are taking the spotlight, amazing citizens with their extreme romantic beauty.

The 2023 East Lake Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off on March 9 in the East Lake Cherry Garden. On the same day, the garden launched a night cherry blossom viewing period, with the closing time delayed until 10 p.m.

The facilities for night flower viewing have also been upgraded. With the innovative incorporation of sound, light, fog and other effects, a dreamlike cherry sea atmosphere is created alongside the landmark buildings there.

In addition, the cherry blossom fair is in full swing, displaying the cherry blossom-themed cultural and creative products produced by Wuhan craftsmen. In the newly unveiled Xiaoying Post Office, tourists can not only buy cultural and creative products, but also mail postcards to relatives and friends or to their future selves, and get a bag of cherry seeds in return. Visitors can also enjoy cherry blossom-camping, concerts and other experiences among the cherry trees.

On the evening of March 9, Wuhan staged a cherry blossom-themed light show, creating a fantastic scene of dancing cherry blossoms when nearly 1,000 buildings, the bridges on the two rivers, the wharfs, and the surrounding hills were lit up.

In addition to the dynamic show, there were also neon slogan messages such as "A Date with Cherry Blossoms in Spring · Capturing the Most Beautiful Wuhan in 2023" and "Cherry Blossoms Awaiting You in the Heroic City," lighting up the landmark buildings such as the Second Yangtze River Bridge and the Tortoise Hill TV Tower, greeting people for a flower tour.

The cherry blossom-themed light show will last until April 5, running from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Citizens and tourists can get the best views from Hankou Riverside Park and Wuchang Zhonghua Road City Balcony, or in Hanyang Riverside Park, Nan'anzui, Dayu Cultural Park, and other venues. Viewers can also choose to board a night cruise to enjoy the cherry blossom light show to the fullest.
