Recently, the National Bureau of Statistics published a hard-copy version of "Tabulation of China's 2020 Population Census by County," which summarized the urban population data of 683 cities. The data shows that there are 105 large cities in China, comprising 7 supermegacities, 14 megacities, 14 Type-I large cities and 70 Type-II large cities.

The super-megacities comprise Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Tianjin. The megacities comprise Wuhan, Dongguan, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Foshan, Nanjing, Shenyang, Qingdao, Jinan, Changsha, Harbin, Zhengzhou, Kunming and Dalian.
Another report "2022 Ranking of China's City Talent Attraction" released by Zhaopin.com and economist Ren Zeping's team showed that Wuhan has been a net talentinflow city for five consecutive years, and the proportion has increased year by year. Wuhan now ranks among the top 10 most attractive cities for talent in China.
