On the morning of April 20, the tunnel shield officially started tunneling the section between Wuhan Railway Station and Wudong Station of Metro Line 19, marking the first time that a metro line will cross East Lake.
　　The tunnel, with a total length of 4.7 kilometers, is the longest section of Line 19.

　　With a total length of about 23.2 kilometers, the line will start from Wuhan Railway Station, pass through Wudong Road, Huacheng Avenue, Huashan Avenue, Optics Valley No. 5 Road, and end at Gaoxin No. 2 Road Station. It will go through Hongshan and Qingshan districts, East Lake Scenic Area, and East Lake High-tech Development Zone.
