Universities start new semester in staggered manner

From Feb. 18 to March 8, using a staggered schedule, 600,000 college students in thirty-five colleges and universities in Hongshan District are beginning their new semester.

  At the northeast gate of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, an entrance with equipment for temperature measurements and facial recognition was set up where students can enter the university after showing their health and travel codes and having their faces scanned. According to a staff member of the university's student affairs office, the university welcomed students back from Feb. 18 to 20 and the new semester officially started on Feb. 21.

  Wuhan City Polytechnic has developed a health code access system that will facilitate management. The system can generate health codes that can be used to classify faculty, students and staff, grant access rights to different groups of people, and trace their movements when necessary.
