On the third competition day of London athletics world championships, Lyu Huihui from central China's Hubei province recaptured the Asian record in the women's javelin throw qualification.

On August 7 Beijing time, Lyu Huihui, winning a sliver and setting an Asian record of 66.13 meters in the 2015 worlds two years ago in Beijing, wrote the Asian record under her name again with a first throw of 67.59m, which bettered the previous mark of 66.47m set by her compatriot Liu Shiying less than three months ago.

Lyu ranked first in the qualification and made into the finals, which will be held on August 9 Beijing time. She will compete together with China's Liu Shiying and Li Lingwei in the finals.
