Wuhan New Year's Shopping season kicks off

A shopping festival has beenlaunched in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province in Central China, to coincide withthe upcoming Lunar New Year. The seasonal event involves promotional activitiesby more than 500 enterprises, associations and digital platforms to create afestive shopping experience and to revitalise local businesses. At Wushang Super Life Hall in Wuhan, many customers have come to shop. Mr. Huang, from Qiaokou district, said he’s looking for good deals during the New Year shopping season.

There are good sales during the consumption season in Wuhan. I came to shop for the upcoming Spring Festival. My mother’s birthday is a couple of days away, I will buy a special present for her at Wuhan International Plaza. 

Themed on “Joyful Shopping in Wuhan,” more than 1,000 activities will be held, covering online shopping,Wuhan time-honored brands, and catering. Consumers can taste delicious food,purchase goods, join a music festival and Spring Festival parties, and enjoy benefits such as a lottery, discounts, and flash sales.

We're offering about $10-million in vouchers for the event. This event is supposed to display the recovery of Wuhan business and to boost Wuhan consumers’ confidence.

Highlights will include the "Chu Cuisine Food Expo", the "New Year Car Purchase Festival", and the “University E-sports Competition”. They are expected to stimulate the consumption potential in Wuhan in an all-round way, and welcome the New Year in a diversified manner.

The Chinese New Year's shopping season will last until February. By incorporating important occasions including the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, the aim is to treat residents with an enjoyable shopping experience, and to stimulate local businesses.
